This year for my birthday I decided to do something different. My friends, Elisha and Mariah, had been planning on running the Snow Joke Half Marathon around Seeley Lake and it just so happened to fall on my birthday weekend. So instead of hitting the bars, I decided to run the race, too, and make an event out of it. We drove up to Seeley the morning of Saturday, February 26 and then Anna, Elisha, Mariah and I ran a half marathon on packed down snow in sub-zero conditions. I'm not going to lie, it was a little crazy. We didn't even know if we were going to run the whole thing because it was so cold and none of us had really trained properly. In the end, though, our race instincts came out and we all ran the whole way. Despite the freezing weather it was a beautiful course! I'd like to do it again in warmer weather....
Cette annee pour mon anniversaire j'ai decide de faire quelque chose de different. Mes copines Elisha et Mariah avaient prevu de courir le semi marathon de Seeley Lake (a une heure a peu pres de Missoula) et ca tombait le meme WE que mon anniversaire. Alors au lieu de sortir dans les bars j'ai decide de faire la course avec elles et d'en faire tout un evenement. On est alle a Seeley Lake le matin de la course et Anna, Elisha, Mariah et moi avons couru 21,1 kilometres sur la neige et avec des temperatures inferieures a zero. Il faut dire que c'etait vraiment un peu ouf. On ne savait meme pas si on allait faire toute la course en courant a cause de la temperature et aussi parce qu'on ne s'etait pas vraiment bien entraine. Mais au final nos instincts de coureuses ont pris le dessus et on a tous fini la course en courant. Malgre le mauvais temps c'etait quand meme super beau. J'aimerais bien le refaire quand il fera plus chaud....
